Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes. Sawtry Doggy Day Care is insured via Clivertons which is a specialist insurer for canine related businesses. The insurance covers public liability; day care, custody, control and transportation of your dog and includes loss of keys.
Q: Do you have a licence?
A: Yes. Sawtry Doggy Day Care (S Boswell) is licenced and rated 4* by Huntingdonshire District Council in accordance with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018. It is illegal to operate a dog day care without a licence from HDC. My licence number is AW53 Susan Boswell
Q. How many dogs are at your day care at any one time?
A: There are only 4 or 5 dogs here at any one time including my own dog. Sawtry Doggy Day Care is a home from home environment not a large commercial day care facility.
Q. Do you offer half day sessions?
A: Yes we also offer evening sessions. Please see the Pricing page.
Q: What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?
A: Sawtry Doggy Day Care only accepts social well balanced dogs. This ensures all the dogs are happy in one another’s company, so it’s unlikely your dog will not get on with another dog.
Q: Do you only accept well-trained dogs?
A: No Sawtry Doggy Day Care will accept dogs as long as they have a basic 'sit' command. As I am an experienced trainer and behaviourist I can always help with that if you are having problems. Many owners have noticed improvement in their dog's behaviour after being here. However, we only accept social dogs that have no history of aggression.
Q: Can my dog be collected and/or dropped off?
A: Yes within Sawtry, Glatton or Gidding. Most clients are comfortable sharing a set of keys with Sawtry Doggy Day Care which enables us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home. Sue only will have the responsibility of client’s keys and is DBS Checked and is an SIA badge holder.
Q: Will my dog be supervised at all times?
A: Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision at the site and will never be left unattended.
Q: I have a small puppy or dog or an elderly dog, can they come to the Day Care?
A: Yes. Doggy Day Care is a great environment for your puppy to grow and socialise. We accept puppies once they have had their 2nd vaccination and are out of their vaccination period which is normally around 13 weeks old. Sawtry Doggy Day Care only accepts miniature, toy, small and medium breed dogs so there will be no large or giants breeds here. As this is a home from home day care your elderly dog is most welcome and will be given plenty of mental stimulation with brain games and a comfy sofa if exercise is difficult.
Q: My dog doesn’t like crates or confined spaces; will he cope with travelling to and from day care?
A: Yes. The crate is vet approved and adheres to BS8517-1 regulations (same as the police). They have more space than is necessary for small and medium breeds. As the collections and drop offs are local your dog will not be in the vehicle for longer than 5-10 minutes each way. Drop off and collection is available within Sawtry, Glatton or Gidding.
Q: Do you offer Day Care at the weekends and on Bank Holidays?
A: Yes. Sawtry Doggy Day Care operates 7 days a week and Bank Holidays including Christmas, New Year and Easter (a small premium is added for Bank Holidays). Please see Pricing page.
Q. Do you cater for shift workers?
A. Yes. Sawtry Doggy Day Care is happy to accommodate shift workers with notice of future shifts. Please call for further information and to discuss your requirements.
